Serbia - Belgrade
Serbia, officially the Republic of Serbia, is a landlocked country situated at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe in the southern Pannonian Plain and the central Balkans.
Serbia borders Hungary to the north, Romania to the northeast, Bulgaria to the southeast, North Macedonia to the south, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to the west, and Montenegro to the southwest.
Serbia has been continuously inhabited since the Paleolithic Age.

The Temple of Saint Sava is a Serbian Orthodox church which sits on the Vracar plateau in Belgrade, Serbia. It was planned as the bishopric seat and main cathedral of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The church is dedicated to Saint Sava, the founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church and an important figure in medieval Serbia.
It is built on the presumed location of St. Sava's grave. There are more than 49 bells in the bell towers and over 18 gold plated crosses on the its domes. |
Belgrade is one of the oldest cities in Europe, with excavations confirming that the settlements continuously existed here for at least 7000 years.
